Takshak Release 1.0.7 pushed
1.0.7 — September 30, 2026
If you cut inside profiles, read this first. Since 1.0.2, an Inside Arc Contour that feature recognition offered on a through-bore opening from a pocket floor could take its loop from a chamfer's outer rim and cut up to the chamfer's width into the bore wall. 1.0.7 chooses a loop by what it would cut: a loop is used only when no part lies just inside its edge over the depth it cuts. Recognition skips a window with no such loop and says so; a floor, wall or Auto loop pick that has none creates no operation and the dialog says why and what to pick instead; a Stitch chain loop that fails the check warns before the operation is created. If you posted inside contours on parts with a chamfered or lipped opening from an earlier version, check them before you run them again.
New
G-code block. Your own G-code as an operation, placed where it sits in the operation list and saved with the project. Blocks you save are offered again from a dropdown.
Rigid tapping. A Tap operation with a tap tool type and standard taps, posted as each control's own rigid-tap cycle, left-hand taps and peck tapping included. Controls whose cycle is not verified are refused rather than guessed.
A rotary boss in one operation: Clear Plug faces the top, follows the draft and finishes.
3Dconnexion SpaceMouse: navigate the view; the buttons run view actions. Read directly on Windows; on Linux through spacenavd.
Tool library: import a tool table from CSV or JSON; duplicate a tool; give an operation its own T number.
Operation list: duplicate, move up or down, and Regenerate all.
Export defaults in Preferences: every export switch, and a Make these my defaults button in the export dialog, so a choice sticks without every one-job change becoming a default.
One work offset for a 3-axis layout of several parts.
Rotary top speed on a machine: rotary moves are never asked to turn the table faster than it can, in G93 or G94.
Chamfers: a Bottom height below the edge on Form Chamfer and Mill Chamfer (down the wall, checked against the part); Rotary Chamfer takes its arc ends and Bottom height from the part, and ball, bull and flat noses keep the edge pass.
3D Trace cuts a binding channel with a negative Wall stock and a depth below the edge; Arc Contour cuts the true offset for a negative Wall stock past the tool radius.
Posts
Makera Carvera (Makera's stock firmware) and Carvera Community (the Community firmware), metric and inch, 3-axis and 4-axis. The stock firmware has no G93, so its rotary feeds are written to that firmware's own rule and the F words look unusual; the move times are the ones asked for. Not yet run on a Carvera here: air-cut the first program.
ShopBot now posts the 3D surface operations too. Rotary is still not supported on it.
A post can run the spindle by hand: the program then carries no spindle words and says so.
The export never swaps the post you picked.
A rotary table along Y is posted as B, not A.
Inch shops: the Machines editor and the export's Safe Z follow your units, and the program comments speak the post's units.
A flood coolant request on a post with no flood word is dropped with a notice instead of writing an empty word.
The post library lists production controls first, then retrofit and PC-based controls, then hobby and desktop machines.
Picking
The selected operation's picks stay lit on their own layer; the rows in the picking list light their faces when you hover them, and X removes exactly that face, in the face picker, Scallop Selection, feature operations and the rotary wrapped contour and pocket.
In a chain's Edges mode, hover lights an edge or nothing; contour picks survive switching Face → Edges → Face.
Ramp's face row: X is the Clear. Engrave lists every face and removes each one.
Fixes
3D Pocket Clear never enters stock under a solid floor.
Generate refuses a tool the operation cannot cut with, and names it.
A rest operation's toolpath is cleared when the operations above it change.
Rotary Axial from / to opens on the stock's range and keeps what you type.
A tool this version cannot read no longer loses the rest of the tool library.
An arc of nearly a full turn no longer posts as its short complement in the inside contours.
Log rotation survives a second Takshak running on the same folder.
Closing Takshak while a toolpath animation plays no longer leaves it running in the background.
Linux AppImage: the manual, folders and links open with your desktop's own programs.
The licence terms name Paddle as the Merchant of Record again.
