Community Hub Privacy Policy
Last Updated: September 10, 2026
Takshak Community Hub (hub.takshakcam.com) is a technical collaboration platform operated by Takshiq Soft Labs LLP (“Company”, “we”, “us”), operating as a Data Fiduciary under the laws of India, based in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.
This Privacy Policy explains how data is collected, processed, and secured when you register and interact on the Community Hub. For privacy terms governing our marketing site and desktop software, please refer to the Takshak Software Privacy Policy.
1. Desktop Software Architecture vs. Community Hub
- Zero Desktop Telemetry: The Takshak desktop CAM application is strictly local-only and transmits zero background usage tracking or silent telemetry. CAD geometry, toolpaths, and project files remain entirely on your local machine. The only automatic network activity is a periodic check for a newer version, which runs at most once in twenty-four (24) hours and can be switched off via
Preferences -> General -> Updates. - Voluntary Support Exports: Technical data is only transmitted when you explicitly choose to export a local diagnostic ZIP archive (
Help -> Export Diagnostic Logs) and manually email it tosupport@takshakcam.com.
2. Information We Collect on the Community Hub & Purpose
We collect and process data on hub.takshakcam.com strictly to manage user accounts, secure the platform, facilitate technical discussions, understand which content the community needs, and keep the attachment store within its capacity:
- Account Registration & Authentication:
When you register, we collect your email address, public username/callsign, and password hash (Argon2id). We generate and store email verification tokens and session hashes to authenticate your login sessions and prevent unauthorized access. - Platform Security & Anti-Abuse:
To prevent automated forum spam, brute-force attacks, and malicious bot activity, we process cryptographic HMAC hashes of IP addresses and utilize Google reCAPTCHA v2 verification during gate checks, registration, password resets, and support or contact form submissions. - Public Community Contributions:
Threads, comments, machine compatibility validations, and any images, logs or configuration files you attach are published to the forum. Forum threads and their attachments are publicly visible, search-engine indexable, and readable without an account. We do not inspect your uploads for personal or confidential content, and nothing is redacted on your behalf. One automated step does apply: images you attach are re-encoded to WebP at a maximum of 2560 pixels on the longest side, and the stored filename changes to.webp. That conversion discards the embedded camera metadata — including GPS coordinates — that phones and cameras write into image files, and we keep the converted image rather than your original. It reduces storage and removes location data you may not have known was there; it does not examine what the picture contains. Logs, configuration files, G-code, CAD geometry and archives are stored exactly as you sent them. You should never include confidential part geometry, client drawings, third-party trade secrets, or personal data in your posts, screenshots or attached files. For anything that cannot be public, useHelp -> Export Diagnostic Logsin the desktop application and email the archive privately to support@takshakcam.com. - Attachment Storage:
We store the file itself, the name you gave it, its type and size, a content hash, and the account that posted it. The store is capped; the retention and notification schedule is in Section 4 and in the Community Terms of Service. - Download and Usage Records:
When you download a library file we record which file, when, an HMAC hash of your IP address (never the raw address) and a coarse browser family, so download counts are accurate and abuse is detectable. These records are automatically deleted 90 days after the download.
We also record the search terms entered on the Hub, including searches that return no results, together with your account id where you are signed in. Searches that find nothing tell us which post-processors and machine definitions the community still needs. This is the only analytics we perform. - Marketing Communications (Opt-In Only):
If you explicitly opt in to receive product updates during registration or in your settings, we may send you occasional release announcements. You can revoke consent at any time via your Settings page or via the unsubscribe link.
3. Third-Party Data Processors & Infrastructure
Data is shared only with authorized infrastructure service providers under strict data security standards:
- Google reCAPTCHA: Used for automated spam prevention and bot detection during gate checks, registration, password resets, and support or contact form submissions.
- YouTube (Google): Tutorial videos are embedded from YouTube using the
youtube-nocookie.comdomain and a click-to-load placeholder. No request reaches Google until you actively click to play a video. - Paddle (Merchant of Record - UK/USA/EU): All software purchases and financial transactions take place off-site directly through Paddle under Paddle’s privacy protocols. No purchase or payment data reaches the Community Hub, and none is needed: Hub access, participation and downloads are free and are not tied to a Takshak purchase.
- Hosting Infrastructure (IONOS, Spain): Our Community Hub database, application servers and uploaded attachments are hosted with IONOS on infrastructure located in Spain (European Union) under European data protection frameworks.
- Cross-Border Processing: As we are established in India and this infrastructure is located in the European Union, the limited data described in Section 2 is processed outside India. We transfer no personal data to any country restricted by the Central Government under the DPDP Act, 2023.
4. Data Retention & Account Deletion (Right to Erasure)
- Session & Security Tokens: Temporary authentication tokens, reset tokens, and expired security records are purged on automated schedules.
- Download Records: Deleted automatically 90 days after the download.
- Attachments: Files you attach to posts are kept while the attachment store has capacity. The store is capped at 60 GB; when it reaches 45 GB the oldest files are scheduled for removal, the owner is emailed three times one week apart, and the file is deleted two weeks after the third notice — five weeks in total. Your posts survive; only the file is removed. Full terms are in the Community Terms of Service.
- Right to Erasure: You can request account anonymization and deletion via your account Settings or by sending an email to
support@takshakcam.com. - 15-Day Resolution Timeline: Erasure requests submitted to
support@takshakcam.comwill be processed, completed, and confirmed within fifteen (15) business days (or as legally prescribed under the DPDP Act, 2023). Upon deletion, personal identifiers are permanently removed and your posts and attachments cease to be attributable to you. Public discussion threads, and any attachments on them, remain intact to preserve community context — this follows from the perpetual content licence in the Community Terms of Service, and is why you should not post anything you may later need withdrawn.
5. Your Rights (DPDP Act, 2023 & International Standards)
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023, you have the following rights:
- Right to Access & Correction: You can access and update your account details directly via your account settings.
- Right to Erasure: You can request account anonymization and removal of personal identifiers by contacting
support@takshakcam.com(processed within 15 business days). - Right to Withdraw Consent: You can manage marketing permissions directly in your Settings.
